Preliminary Notice
30 daysA preliminary notice of right to lien must be given within 30 days of starting work. If you do not send your notice within 30 days, you will have no lien rights. Wyoming does not recognize late notices as a protection.
Intent to Lien
20 days before filing lienIf you fail to send a Notice of Intention to File Lien, your lien will most likely be invalid. There are some circumstances where you may still have lien rights, but you will need to discuss with legal counsel.
Mechanic's lien
120 daysMust be filed within 120 days of last work performed under contract or substantial completion (whichever occurs first). Notice of Filing Lien should be sent within 30 days after filing the lien. Enforcement must be initiated within 180 days of lien filing. Mechanic's liens cannot be extended in Wyoming.
